James Burridge Michal Gnacik Rob Inkpen
James is a Reader in Probability and Statistical Physics in the School of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Portsmouth.
His current research, funded by the Royal Society, focusses on understanding language change and cultural behaviour using stochastic spatial models. James has also produced rigorous results in stochastic processes, tessellations and the shapes of random walks.
Michal is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Portsmouth. He specialises in applied and pure probability and stochastic processes. Michal is also a keen programmer and Machine Learning enthusiast. Rob is Reader in Physical Geography in the School of the Environment, Geography & Geosciences at the University of Portsmouth.
His recent research has developed a focus on environmental perception. This interest has helped Rob to unravel how people's perception of their environment and the risks it contains affects how they navigate and use that environment.
